Claim flight compensation directly — without a commission

Start with a free flight check, then use this checklist to prepare your own request. EC261 Check does not submit claims, act as your representative or collect booking details.

Check my flight

1. Check what happened

A delay result is a starting point, not confirmation that compensation is due. Keep the airline’s explanation. For cancellations, also record when you were told and any replacement journey. If you missed a connection, preserve the full itinerary rather than just the delayed leg.

2. Keep your evidence together

Save your booking confirmation, boarding passes, airline messages and receipts. Note the actual time passengers were allowed to leave the aircraft, if known; landing time can be earlier. Do not invent a time if you cannot verify it. Copy the checker’s summary as a reference, not as an official delay certificate.

3. Choose the right request

Compensation for a disruption, a refund of the ticket and reimbursement of expenses are different requests. Read the airline’s categories before submitting. Only claim costs you actually incurred, and keep the receipts.

4. Submit directly and save a copy

Use an official airline page below. Copy passenger and booking details from your reservation, review everything and save the text and confirmation reference. We do not need your booking code, bank details or passport.

No flight data, or a form that fails?

You can still prepare a request using your own documents. A missing checker result is not a rejection of your rights. If the airline form fails, save the error and contact the airline through its official help page, explaining which step failed. Keep correspondence under the same reference when possible.

What if the airline says no?

Read the stated reason and request clarification or supporting information if it is unclear. Keep your original request and the response. The appropriate escalation route depends on the country and airline; consult the official passenger-rights guidance below. This tool does not decide disputes or promise a payout.
